Big things in the making

Its been nine months since my last update and so much has happened!!....but let me first apologize for not keeping you informed. In my last post I mentioned a new riddim I had composed paying homage to the electronic music mecca, Ibiza. Since then I have been submerging myself in the electronic music culture, learning and understanding the genre and the business behind it.

Why electronic music? Its built on composing a piece of music to evoke emotion and ultimately cause persons to experience the track or song; not just hear it. Personally I believe if Mozart, Beethoven and other early composers were alive now, they would be doing electronic music because many of the principles applied in classical music are applied in electronic music. Well, most electronic music....

Now on to the good stuff....since December last year myself and label partner Andrae Draeday Palmer have been focusing on doing electronic remixes of dancehall songs. Some popular, some not so popular, but worth getting the remix treatment. The good news is that those remixes have been getting some serious air play, albeit in the electronic music segment of radio stations play-list!!! Not only that, but our remixes have taken flight, and a German electronic music blog site did a small write up on our remixes. Here's the link to my write up here. Listen to my other remixes here

So we've rung in the new year; popped the champagne, worn the party favours, sang along with our friends and/or family etc. but what next? As we reminisce on 2008, some of us may have good memories, others may have unfinished business, some others unrealized dreams; whatever our situation, let us look ahead to the year ahead and plan accordingly. The outcome of this year depends on us and what we do with it. Have a great 2009!!!
